There's little in life that brings us more delight than sharing a drink or a meal with people we love, especially when that drink or meal is really really delicious. From the confluence of curiosity and a love of great coffee, Summit brings to you the first (of many, we hope) Crown Jewel releases. We called up our brilliant buds in San Francisco at Royal Coffee, asked them to share some coffees they're excited about. The catch: we're only roasting this ONCE, and only selling 45 bags!
The result is an incredible coffee from the Caranavi Province in Bolivia, and producer Yulissa Chambi. Growing up outside La Paz on her family's coffee farm, Yulissa has quickly become one of the most dynamic and talented coffee producers we've come across. She began renovating her family farm at the start of 2019, when she was 17 years old, and her hard work has paid off with this certified organic coffee that's super sweet, super clean, and super drinkable.
Candidly, we've been chasing great Bolivian coffees since our old pals at Counter Culture exposed us to them 10 years ago, and Yulissa's coffee is the first time we've had a truly exceptional coffee from this country. Tasting notes are tricky, because what we taste on the cupping table or in our V60 likely will be different than what you get at home. What we are enjoying in this cup, however, are tropical fruit notes like guava, coconut, and grapefruit, a sweetness akin to caramel or butterscotch, and a mouthfeel that's coating, lingering, and fresh.
How does it work? Parker is roasting this coffee on Thursday, June 12, and then we'll ship the bags out to the lucky 45 of you who order in time. So, order it now! We'd also love to hear what you think, so feel free to share any thoughts after you brew with roastery@summitcoffee.com.
