your coffee brewing guide.

  • Always use freshly ground coffee.

  • Use filtered or “soft” water

  • Water temp should range from 196-205 degrees F

  • Use 1:15 or 1:16 coffee (g) to water (ml) ratio for any brew method

the basics you need:

  • Filter | Tablespoon | 2 tbsp of coffee to every 6 oz of water

  • medium

  • Use 1:15 or 1:16 coffee (g) to water (ml) ratio for any brew method

Add coffee filter to brew basket

    • Measure + Add Coffee to your filter
-Standard coffee to water ratio when brewing with a drip coffee maker is 1:16. We suggest using 2 tablespoons of your favorite Summit coffee with every 6 ounces of water
-Keep in mind, this is a starting point. Adjust these measurements to your preference. You’re the one drinking the coffee :)

    • Add filtered water to the reservoir.

    •Brew your coffee and enjoy!

note* Please let the entire pot of coffee complete its brew cycle before enjoying the most well rounded flavor!

  • Timer | Stirring Utensil | Kettle | 27 grams (4-5 tbsp) of coffee | 430 ml of water, pre-heat a little extra water

  • coarse

  • • Use 1:15 or 1:16 coffee (g) to water (ml) ratio for any brew method

    • Bring water to a boil (205°F) then let cool for 30 seconds

    • Preheat your french press by rinsing with the hot water, then discard the water

    • Add ground coffee to french press, and make sure it’s level, give it a little swirl or tap

    • Once water reaches 196°F, start the timer and fill your french press about halfway with water

    • After 1 minute stir grounds 8-10 times to make sure the water is saturating all the grounds

    • At 2 minutes, pour in the remaining hot water to the top and secure the top of the french press, being careful to create a seal but not press down.

    • At 4 minutes, slowly press the top of the french press down. You’re ready to pour and enjoy!

  • Small Coffee Filter (specific to your brewer) | Scale | Timer

  • medium to medium-fine

  • • Use 1:15 or 1:16 coffee (g) to water (ml) ratio for any brew method

•Bring water to a boil (205°F) then let cool for 30 seconds

    • Pre-wet your filter and discard water from the vessel
    -
Preheats the carafe, helps the filter stick, and gets rid of the papery taste

    • Add 25 g (~5 tbsp) ground coffee to your filter, level out (swirl and tap)
    -
    Helps with even extraction

    • Start your timer, and slowly pour a small amount of water in a circular motion to “bloom” the coffee, making sure it is all saturated.

    • Wait 30-45 seconds

    • Pour about half of your remaining water, starting in the middle with concentric circles and slowly working your way outward until you reach the edge

    • Swirl or stir grounds about 6-8 times gently creating a vortex

    • Pour the remaining half of your water, starting in the middle with concentric circles and slowly working your way outward until you reach the edge

    • Brew time should take 2-3 minutes

    • Discard grounds and filter, and you are ready to pour and enjoy!
