A New Year. A New Look.

Welcome to our new look. While the ball dropped in Times Square and the calendar rolled over yet again, we spent the weekend refreshing Summit Coffee. Some changes, perhaps most notably the paint on our walls, happened overnight. A dedicated crew of baristas and friends shared many hours and gallons of paint to give the shop an updated look. Other changes, such as this website and the new Summit Coffee Co. logo, have been in the works for quite some time.

This is still the same Summit, your Summit. The coffee is brewed from the same good beans it has been for 13 years. And Dave and Becky still are pouring the best morning Lattes you can find.

We believe, however, that change is a good thing. And we’re committed to staying creative and making Summit a dynamic place. We resolve to make 2012 a year of creativity and fun.

After all, if 2012 is the year that we’re all calling it quits (as the Mayans tell us), we’d be remiss if we didn’t have a functioning website before everything is said and done. So here it is. Look around, stay a while. Want to know who’s taking the stage Thursday night? Check out our calendar. Want to send coffee and a mug to a friend in Delaware? Find that all in our shop.

Alongside this new site, we’re excited to unveil the new logo. We think it has a nice, familiar relationship with our original logo while at the same time creating a more unique and authentic stamp for our company. We’ll be rolling out new Summit Swag in the coming days.

We have plenty of other plans for 2012. We are turning the upstairs into a pub on Friday nights. The Freckled Dog, affectionately named after Otis, the Summit dog, will offer a different beer selection from the downstairs with a distinctly pub feel. Come check out the newest hangout spot on Main Street this Friday night, Jan. 6, starting at 5:00pm. Also, the Summit Twilight Racing Series returns with four events, starting with a race on St. Patrick’s Day. There will be more art openings, wine tastings and book signings, a revamped wine selection and an expanded emphasis on coffee education.

There’s lots to be excited about, but one thing hasn’t changed: nothing beats the Summit experience. We look forward to sharing 2012 with each of you. This blog will be a space for our banter, so bookmark this to keep plugged into Summit. Multiple entries each week will offer news, stories, videos and much more. As always, if you have any questions, let us know. This is your coffee shop.

Happy new year. Come join us.
