We opened our doors for the first time in September 1998, and 17 years later we’re going to throw a week’s worth of parties to celebrate. Starting Monday, September 21, we’re going with seven straight days of events to celebrate you, our friends and customers, and to showcase all of what Summit Coffee Co. has to offer.

Monday – Trivia Night
Our weekly trivia night is going 1998- and Summit-themed for next Monday. Starting at 7:30pm, bring your team of up to six persons for a night of fun — under the stars if weather permits!

Tuesday – Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest
Our great friends from Sierra Nevada are helping us celebrate 17 years with an Oktoberfest party. Join us starting at 7:00pm for the Lederhosen Lap (1-mile FREE fun run) — 1st 50 people who participate get a Sierra Nevada swag bag with a beer stein and a T-shirt! AND Live Music from local singer/songwriter Chas Willimon starting after the run. We’ll also be offering pretzels with Sierra Nevada mustard, and have four Sierra brews on tap.

Wednesday – Free Coffee Day
Yes, that’s correct. We’re copying our good friends from Ben & Jerry’s and turning Free Cone Day into Free Coffee Day! Starting at 6:00am on Wednesday, Sept. 23, we’re offering free 8-ounce cups of our newest coffee, 1998, at both the Basecamp and Outpost locations. Plus, all bags of coffee will be 17% off to celebrate 17 years.

Thursday – Panda Returns with The Pocket
He started playing here more than a decade ago, and while his talent has taken him north, he’s flying back for ONE NIGHT ONLY. Josh Panda is taking the stage at Summit for the first time in 3 years, solo from 7:00-8:30 and then with Billy Jones + The Pocket until 11.

To make the party even bigger, the Smokey J’s BBQ truck will be serving dinner all evening, and we’ll have eight awesome beers on tap!

Friday – Rusty Knox + Davidson Soccer
We’re known for our big Fridays, so we’re going with two big events to celebrate 17 years.

At Basecamp, Rusty Knox is taking the stage for a memorable night of tunes. Rusty takes the stage around 7 and will play as long as you allow him.

At Outpost, we’re bookending the Davidson men’s soccer game with parties. From 5-7, we’re drinking beers and eating pizzas before heading to the stadium for the game. Then, afterwards, we’re running it back to celebrate a Wildcats win!

Saturday – Yoga at the Roastery
Saturday morning, we want you to check out our new roasting warehouse in Cornelius. So we’re offering Yoga + Coffee, next to our beautiful roasting machine, at 10:00am. All ages and ability levels welcome — we certainly qualify as “beginners.” For more information, email [email protected]

That night, Rick Spreitzer + The Antique Babies are capping off our live music week with a performance at our Basecamp location from 8-11.

Sunday – Brunch at the Outpost
To cap off a busy week, we’re eating Sunday Brunch at our favorite spot: the Outpost. Starting at 10:00am, Courtney and her crew will be whipping up an amazing menu to soak in 17 years.

Moved to Cornelius 6 years ago and within months of our move we found Summit. Have had many of their great lattes and have sat thru many music nights out in the open when the weather permits and upstairs on colder nights beer or wine in hand. It is an awesome place. The staff is friendly and the talent fun. The place has a funky artsie, eclectic ambiance. Great place!!!! Congratulations on your 17th and many more!
